So, remember yesterday? Where I answered a question about which special gift I would give a special someone this Christmas? Remember that it was a collab with LaterLevels and a bunch of other bloggers? Good! Today I have another question for you that I want to answer and it’s a special one. So, what’s the question today? It’s going to be another personal one. And I’m still wondering why I don’t do some creative theming for these articles? Huh.
You’re wrapping presents while listening to cheesy festive tunes, and start to reminisce about holidays past. What’s your favourite Christmas gaming memory?
My favorite gaming memory on Christmas? I think it’s best that I mention several memories and then decide which one is best.
The first memory I have is a tradition I started a few years ago with a bunch of my friends. While it didn’t happen on Christmas itself and more on New Year’s Eve, I think it counts. It’s a full-on gaming night where my friends and I come together and play games all night long.
Man, I have done this for five-ish years and it’s so much fun to do. Last year, I even did it with my godchild and she enjoyed it an awful lot. Even my aunt, her mother, joined in for a few rounds of Mario Kart. My aunt respects games but doesn’t play them.
I can’t wait to do it again this year with my godchild and I have a bunch of games in mind we could play together. I’m really curious what she will think about the games I have in mind.
The second memory is when I was much younger. It’s almost eleven years ago now. I knew that I was going to get a Nintendo DS for Christmas from my family. I was seriously hyped and I was saving up money to buy myself three games.
I wanted to buy myself Pokémon Diamon, Super Mario 64 DS and The Legend Of Zelda – Phantom Hourglass. As you guys know, I’m a big fan of the Zelda series. While I haven’t told anybody of my family that I wanted to buy the new Zelda game for Christmas, my family knew how much I liked the Zelda series.
At garage sales, I bought every Zelda game and merch there was. Yet, it was still a surprise to me when I received another gift that Christmas evening. It was The Legend Of Zelda – Phantom Hourglass from my aunt.
I was touched, mind blown that I received a game as a bonus. Since then I made a tradition each and every year to start up my DS and pop in The Legend of Zelda – Phantom Hourglass to relive those nostalgic moments.
I have various other memories of gaming and Christmas. I received so many different gaming merchandise and games for Christmas, I can’t keep count. So, that’s why I decided that the two memories mentioned above are my favorite gaming related memories during Christmas.
I know that I’m cheating a bit with choosing two memories and not my favorite, but they are equally as important to me than the other memories. Just the fact that games can bring family and friends together to celebrate the friendship and love we have for each other amazes me. It becomes more than just a friendly match or competition, it becomes an experience we all share and carry with us for the rest of our existence.
So, that’s my answer to this question. Thank you so much for reading this article and I hope to see you in another article. But until then, take care and have a great rest of your day.

Exactly. Even when we dont play games but watch movies all night, just sharing experiences is so amazing.
