Gamer’s Diary #5: One time special!

character224Since I want to do something special this month, I decided to get my old series “game diary” back for one time. To avoid that only there are only reviews and first impressions from a given console or handheld. Anyways, enough introduction and reason why I bring the series back for this one time. In this article you will find a story where 20 game titles are hidden. Do you know enough games to find them all? If there are more then ten, feel free to tell me. The solution is underneath the story. To avoid spoiling yourself, I made the text white. This way you have to scroll over it to reveal it. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this one. Good luck and have fun! To avoid confusion, I used the Wikipedia lists of all titles on the gameboy and gameboy color. I also hid 10 titles of each handheld. Oh, and before I forget, let me know in the comments how many you got and or some feedback on this article.

 Gameboy part

Hello there, I was just trying to find some worms in my backyard for a biology project. It’s kinda gross, I know. But we are going to study how fish react to them. I’m quite disappointed that I had to cancel my tennis training. Otherwise I wouldn’t had enough time.

I could be lazy and go to the animal breeder in the alleyway, but what’s the fun of that? I like to find other insects like centipedes to scare the living hell out of my sister.

Before I forget, the guy who owns the animal shop has like a monopoly on animals in my town. I thought Chinese people only played Mahjong. Stereotypical, I know. I prefer card games more myself honestly. My dad, who is a fire fighter, is more of a chessmaster. But he is on in a meeting now in Shangai.

Gameboy Color part

Hello there, my name is Laura. I might not be able to make a 720* on my skateboard, but I do some basic tricks. I don’t like to go to VIP parties since, I’m never invited. They think I’m a nerd because I like to play backgammon with my family.

Oh well, that’s their problem. They are like running animals, not a chicken run … but more running ants. Annoying but useful sometimes.

Look who we have there, my dad is home from his job as a deer hunter. He has a big gift for mom. I have a déjà vu. Didn’t he do the same thing last week? I shouldn’t care too much about that, otherwise bad thoughts will spawn in my head.

Final thoughts

First of all, this should be released last weekend, but I was busy and such. Sorry for the delay. I know it’s shorter then the other entries but I’m so busy but I wanted to make sure that it got released.

It’s a difficult game, isn’t it? I wouldn’t be surprised if you barely found any title in the story. That’s because you shouldn’t pick generic titles. Then you don’t stand out, then you blend in a story so nicely.

Anyways, thanks for reading and hopefully you enjoyed reading it. I also hope to see you another time here on my blog. (Also, this was an exclusive article on my blog, not reblogged on other partner sites)

NekoJonez: Game Diary #4: Sick day ~ PSP Games

It’s finally back! The blog game created by yours truly NekoJonez. I came up with this game when one day I realized that some game titles were generic words and they could be hid in a story. So, I played around with the idea in my mind and I forged this game. In this game, your goal is simple. I have hid 10 game titles in a made up story. Can you find them all? Don’t worry, I always mention a list from where I got the names so there can be no real debate. If I left one in that I didn’t mention in the solution, feel free to drop a comment. In this entry of Game Diary, I hid 10 PSP games. I created my list using this WikiPedia list. I admit this list is going to be tricky. Keep in mind that I used words that can be hidden in a sentence. That is a great tip to find some. So, feel free to leave a comment saying how many you found and which ones. And if you enjoy this, hop on over to my blog, I have more of them there. Anyways, here we go!

The story

Dear diary

Today, I think I got infected with a virus. Not on my computer, thankfully. I got really sick today. Finally some rest after all these days. I was getting sick of the rush of every day. Trains, cars, motorcycles… It was giving me a serious headache. Besides, they had a strike in Brooktown High today, I couldn’t go to college anyways.

I couldn’t get into the flow of things. Of course, I was sick. My temperature gone up big time. I decided to try and play some games. But I couldn’t do it. My concentration was there. I switched on the TV and I noticed that I got some background noise.

The beats from the music from the neighbors next door was loud enough to play through my movie. The movie was about cars without a driver. A simple idea but I wish I could crush the music installation of the ones next door. But I wasn’t able to exit my home today to actually do it.

That’s all for today. I hope to write more later. When I’m healed.

Blaire.

Solution

Wow, this story was short. Well, that makes it a bit easier I think. Here follow the games in order of appearance.

  1. Infected
  2.  Rush
  3. Cars
  4. Brooktown High
  5. Flow
  6. Up
  7. Beats
  8. Driver
  9. Crush
  10. Exit

So, I hoped you enjoy this article and this game. I enjoyed writing this one a lot. It’s an old series that made it’s return. Hopefully I have new idea’s for future ones soon. Tell me from which library I should write a new article in this series.

Anyways, I’m going to try and write some nice new articles in my break so keep an eye on my Twitter feed for updates!

Game Diary #3: Nintendo DS.

Arpegibe

Hello there. How are you guys and girls? Welcome to a new entry into my game diary series. In this series, I write a fake diary entry and it’s your goal to fish out the hidden game titles. I try to hide 10 in these stories. Each entry has a certain system or theme to it to help you find them. All the previous entries in this series you can easily find back in the category “Game Diary”. For the solutions, you simply have to select the list under the story. I have written the solution in white text on purpose so cheaters have to do some effort. So, enough fooling around. Let’s get to the story and let’s see how many Nintendo DS games you can find. It’s nearly always the title I have hidden. I tried to exclude the DSiWare games and such. So, the hidden games are games you can have as a psychical copy. Oh, and let me know in the comments how many you found. Let me know which ones I missed in the solution and which ones you found in the comments.

The story

Dear diary

Man, I feel like a young teenager girl writing the introduction like that. I have to find a better introduction. Otherwise I can go to Sally’s Saloon like my mother and sister. My mother already got me there once. I had to wait there so she can drive me home from school when she was done. But she won’t succeed again.

Today I LOL’ed pretty hard at college. Somebody nearly fell on his face. It’s that old professor again. His brain age is surely pretty old. I can’t believe he isn’t retired yet.

So our geographic teacher went on and on about the moon again. It’s so annoying to hear him doing that. We need to learn about other things as well. I hope he finally learns his lesson when we pull that prank with him next week.

My dad’s new job is amazing. He is a zoo keeper now. Well, part of a team that keeps that zoo in town here clean. They needed new people. Thanks dad for not being home all the time now, thanks to that the candy cupboard is unguarded. Now I can steal candy with ease while writing in this secret diary of mine. – Happy face –

Tonight I went to the Pop Town. In case I forget, it’s the local club. It’s near that Hotel Dusk. That old hotel. But now I’m off to play some street football with my buddies. See you later.

And stop reading my entry, it’s my life alright?

Solution

  1. Sally’s Saloon. A PC game ported to the DS.
  2. Again. Such a disappointment.
  3. LOL. Yes, it’s a party game.
  4. Brain Age, come on. That was an easy one.
  5. Moon. Okay, okay. That was not an easy one.
  6. Zoo Keeper. Well, I need to play to judge this game.
  7. My Secret Diary. Thanks WiKipedia for remanding me of this game/thing.
  8. Pop Town. Uhu.
  9. Hotel Dusk. Still need to finish this gem.
  10. Street Football. Yeah, I can’t play it in real life.

Thanks for playing with me. Hopefully you had as much fun looking into this story as I had writing it. I hope to welcome you the next time but until then. Game on!

Game Diary #2: A day at school ~ GBA games

Arpegi Back

When I posted the game diary yesterday on my blog on my forum, a lot of amazing replies came. One of them even asked for more of them. And you guys are in luck, I felt like making another one today. So, in this blog game, I write a fake story as a sort of diary entry. In this story, I hide several game names or obvious game references. Each entry has it’s own theme. Like last entry was one where 10 NES games where in hidden. I realize that I made a flaw and put a SNES game in by accident. Thanks Muddy for pointing that out on the forums. Speaking about the forums, the global moderator Light made this picture meant for a wallpaper. It’s amazing. Anyways, feel free to post your solution or the ones you find in the comments. So for those playing the game, pay attention when reading the comments. So, here we go. In this article I have hidden 10 GBA games. Based on this list. If I made more then 10 references, feel free to comment to. Those one weren’t on purpose.

The entry

Hiya there diary,

Today my mom went out to the garage. Both my parent’s their cars broke down. Hopefully they get them repaired soon. But the gods are with us. That’s for sure.

Today I dreamed  away. I was looking to the golden sun. Yeah, it’s not yellow for me. I always thought the sun had a more golden color. I should have been studying history actually. But things like Napoleon and robots don’t really interest me. I also never understood why there where robots in my history book anyways.

Today it was a truth or dare with my friends. Silly questions where asked, like if Johnathan is actually in love with Cindy. If that was only true. But Cindy would never start a relationship with him. Only if pigs grow wings. Or better said, when they can fly.

While I am writing this, I would love it if the guy with the drill would shut up. He is causing me headaches and I can’t study for anything. But then again, I prefer that sound over the sound that comes from my sister’s room. How she can watch that show American Idol, I truly don’t understand.

The field trip of tomorrow goes to the Rocky Mountains. I can’t wait! It’ll be a whole lot of fun. Hiking through the woods. I can give some teachers a payback of giving me back marks because I gave up at the running test.

Well, I’m too tired to continue to write now. I’m going to dive into my pillow fortress and maybe catch a nap.

See you laterz,

Jonez.

The solution

  1. Cars, from the movie Cars.
  2. Gods, it’s a port of a Sega game.
  3. Golden Sun, yeah, it’s a present.
  4. Napoleon, it’s a game title yes.
  5. Robots, I even mentioned it twice.
  6. Wings, it’s a GBA too.
  7. American Idol, like the TV show.
  8. Rocky, yup, the boxer has it’s own GBA game.
  9. Payback, it’s a GBA game too.
  10. Fortress is the last game I referenced.

Final notes

This was harder then I expected. I know a lot about Nintendo, but hiding the games into a story for GBA games, it wasn’t easy. I did it, but I feel like I made some easy use of some game titles.

Anyways, I enjoyed challenging myself with hiding the game titles in here. How many can you guys find? Let me know. But the next article will be something else.

Game Diary #1: Craziness ~ NES games

Arpegibe Well, this is my game diary. In this series, I’ll write a story in a sort of diary style. Of course it’s fake. But why do I write it then? Well, in the story I’ll hide some game names or obvious references to games or game series. At the end I’ll post the solution and where you can find them. Can you find them all? I’ll try to give each entry a certain theme. In this article I’ll hide 10 (popular) Nintendo series. Are you ready? Let’s go then! Oh, leave in the comments how many series you found. Also, when I made a reference without noticing, feel free to put it in the comments. Oh yeah, if you play this game, be careful while reading the comments for spoilers. Oh yeah, all the references are NES games.

The entry

Dear game diary,

Today I played several games again. It’s almost like yesterday when I met Troid. Man, he is a great guy. I played the whole day with him. I’m jealous of his job. He is a game reviewer for a magazine. It earns way more then my paper boy job at the local news store.

Troid told me that he wants to go to space one day. Sadly enough, we are bound to earth.

Mom bought a new vacuum cleaner today. I saw the name Kirby on the vacuum bag. The previous one broke. My dad told me that a metal gear in it went missing. Well, I don’t remember it exactly what he told me, and it doesn’t matter that much really. We have a new vacuum cleaner.

My dad came back from his duck hunt the other day and showed us the dog he found. Jokingly he said that he saw the dog laughing to him whenever he missed the ducks. I have such a crazy old man. My mother isn’t that crazy on the other hand, well she is crazy about him.

Felix, our cat, threw up on the carpet today. My brother had to clean it up. It has his fault. I know that it’s my cat, but hey, if it’s his fault; I’m not going to clean up his mess.

But I’m going to leave it here. The kick-off of the soccer match is about to start.

Cheers,

Jonez

The solution.

And now, in order. (Select the text to see it.)

  1. “met Troid” , come on, just paste that together.
  2. The holiday job is a title of a NES game. Paper-boy.
  3. The most difficult one: “bound to earth”. Earthbound.
  4. Yes, Kirby is also the name of a vacuum bag.
  5. a Metal Gear is missing.
  6. Duck Hunt, the activity from which the dad returned.
  7. “My mother” – Mother series. (Yeah, cheated a bit on this one. Thought it would be a sneaky one for some challenge.)
  8. The cat’s name. Felix the cat. It’s a NES game.
  9. “Kick-Off” is the name of a soccer series.
  10. And yeah, Soccer is a NES game too.

Closing

So, I created this story while sitting on the bus home from college. I had this series on my Dutch blog, when I still had it, and now I decided to revive it. I hope you enjoyed trying to find them all. Feel free to send me idea’s for next time. But until my next article guys!
